Saudi Arabia renews its full support to Yemen

Saudi Arabia has renewed its full support to Yemen tocomplete the terms of the Gulf initiative and reach the political stability.Following his participation at the head of the Saudi delegation at the 7th meetingof the Group of Friends of Yemen, which was held on Wednesday in the ant Britishcapital London, Saudi Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs for MultilateralRelations, Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer Al Saud, said "We counton the results of this meeting to promote the work of the Friends of Yemen andraise the level of performance to support Yemen in this important transitionalphase".The Saudi official praised Yemen's good achievements since the entry into force ofthe Gulf initiative in April 2011, considering that it deserves the support ,praise andappreciation."The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was and remains at the forefront of countries thatstood up with its all potential with the brotherly people of Yemen", Price Turki said."In addition to the support provided by the Kingdom for the development projectsand financing plans of the infrastructure construction over the past two years inamounts exceeding US$ 3 billion, the Kingdom recognizes the importance of thededicated support to alleviate the humanitarian crisis being experienced by manyparts of Yemen under such circumstances", the Saudi official added.In this regard, Prince Turki referred that the Kingdom has signed an agreement withthe Yemeni government to finance projects of the Social Fund for Development inYemen with a US$ 100 million grant, the first payment of which amounting US$ 10million was delivered according to the agreement.The Saudi official stressed the importance of continuing to provide help to Yemenby the donor states, agencies and funds and the implementation of their previousobligations ,as this is critical to achieve the positive goals.The Saudi official continued to say "The Kingdom calls on the donor countries andfunds to increase the attention and assistance required by the humanitariansituation in Yemen."He affirmed that the stability and security of Yemen and skipping of difficulties and challenges facing it at more than one level is related to the international securityand stability.The Saudi Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry concluded to say: "That is why we arerequired more than ever to stand with Yemen and assist it in skipping risks andachieving security and stability on its territory.
