Saudi Arabia will reopen its Embassy in Baghdad soon, said Saudi Ambassador to Iraq Thamer al Sabhan.
The new embassy building will be inside the Green Zone, the fortified area that contains a number of Iraqi ministries and the US and British embassies, added the ambassador in statements to London-based newspaper Al Hayat in its Saudi edition.
The Iraqi government is taking the necessary security measures to secure the embassy, he added.
The staff of the Saudi Embassy in Baghdad surpasses 50 employees who will work between Baghdad and the Saudi Consulate in Erbil, he noted.
Diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iraq were severed in 1990 but restored in 2004 after the US-led invasion toppled Saddam Hussein.
