
Saudi-led warplanes targeted Houthi positions and weapon caches in Sanaa, a Yemeni political analyst said.
Fathy al Yousefy said possible clashes between the Houthi militants and forces allied to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh were predicted.
Such clashes were predictable especially after the disagreements between senior leaders of the Saleh-controlled Popular Congress party, he said at a televised interview.
He added that the forces allied to President Abd Rabbou Mansour Hadi could stem the advance of the Houthis in Taiz and Aden "yet they need air coverage from the coalition forces.
