A wide scale security plan has been outlined ahead of the fifth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution, said Assistant Interior Minister for Civil Protection Mohamed Saqr Friday.
In an exclusive interview with MENA, Saqr said all civil protection departments nationwide have been put on highest alert.
Under the plan, sappers will be deployed to all main squares, vital institutions, parks, and police sites, Saqr said.
Saqr called on citizens to report to civil protection forces in case of suspecting any foreign object, or car, or unknown bag to be able to carry out necessary inspection.
He urged the citizens not to approach any foreign objects or explosives until the sappers have handled the matter.
The department of civil protection has been provided with the latest devices to detect and deal with explosives and fire, he assured.
He noted that 19 policemen have been killed in terror acts over the past year.
