
Senior officials in the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League held here a closed-door meeting to discuss draft projects listed on the draft agenda of the Arab Summit prior to final endorsement by the Arab Foreign Ministers meeting next Sunday. The senior officials will hold another closed-door meeting later in the day to complete discussion of the draft projects which include economic and social files. Among the draft projects are an economic and social draft project pertinent to the initiative of the Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Arabi concerning the establishment of an Arab mechanism for humanitarian aid. They will also discuss a complete file on reforming the Arab League charter and system as well as its affiliate bodies and the joint Arab action, in addition to following up implementation of the previous economic and social development summits with regard to women illiteracy. The Arab Foreign Ministers on Sunday will be expected to prepare a draft agenda, Kuwait Declaration and the final communique prior to the Arab Summit next Tuesday.
