
Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah chaired the first meeting of the ministerial committee, formed by the Arab League Council here on Thursday to lobby for a UN Security Council action on Palestinian statehood.
The meeting discussed a plan to mobilize an international support in the forthcoming period in order to submit a newer Arab decision draft at the UNSC, League's Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Bin Helli told reporters The committee agreed that member countries, whether collectively or bilaterally, conduct necessary visits and calls to a number of countries for that cause, he pointed out.
Meanwhile, League's Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al-Araby will begin his activity within the plan's framework by visiting Brussels next Sunday to meet with EU and EP officials in order to secure necessary supports for the Arab draft at UNSC, Bin Helli added.
The Arab Ministerial Committee consists of Kuwait, Mauritania, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine and the Arab League Secretariat
