
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Wednesday with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nuhhayan and discussed means of boosting bilateral relations at the political and economic levels.
The meeting also tackled strategic coordination between Egypt and the UAE in a way that serves the best interests of both countries, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.
Sisi posted Sheikh Mohamed on the latest developments in Egypt, particularly efforts exerted to overcome major problems, such as that of energy, Youssef said.
The president also touched upon projects to develop the Sinai peninsula, establish new cities, complete the road network and build harbors and airports, the spokesman added.
Sheikh Mohamed, for his part, reiterated his country's support for Egypt and for the right of Egyptians to achieve development, stability and growth.
Egypt is the pillar of stability in the Middle East and has a strategic weight in the region, Sheikh Mohamed told Sisi.
The UAE minister also extended condolences to the Egyptian government and people for the victims of EgyptAir Flight MS804, which crashed into the Mediterranean last week, stressing support for Egypt in such painful times.
