Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has decided to cut short his participation at the African Summit, which will open today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the aftermath of the terror attacks in North Sinai, which left a least 30 people dead and dozens injured, mostly soldiers.
President Sisi's office said in a statement that the Egyptian leader had decided to cut short his participation after attending the opening session and return to Cairo to follow-up the situation.
Security sources said rockets first targeted police headquarters, a military base and a military hotel in Al-Arish. A booby-trapped can then exploded before rockets hit an officers’ compound nearby.
