
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held talks with Jordanian King Abdullah II at Cairo International Airport on Sunday.
The two leaders first held closed-door talks and then their delegations joined the talks which mainly tackled ways to boost bilateral ties in the political and economic fields, presidential spokesman Alaa Yousef said.
The two leaders called on the Muslim world to boost cooperation and coordination for correcting the distorted image of Islam.
They shed light on the role of Azhar, the world's leading seat of learning on Sunni Islam, as a beacon of moderate Islam.
Regarding the latest developments in the region, the two leaders discussed the Syrian crisis and the Palestinian issue.
On Syria, Sisi and king Abdullah stressed the importance of preserving Syria's unity and integrity, political unity.
