
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Thursday a delegation from a host of speakers of Arab parliaments in the presence of Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmed el Jarawan and Egypt's Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal.
During the meeting, Jarawan extended thanks to President Sisi for sponsoring the First Conference of Arab Parliament Speakers, which kicked off yesterday in Cairo, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
The conference is keen on promoting joint Arab action and formulating a unified parliamentary vision to confront the current challenges besetting the Arab nation, said Jarawan.
He, meanwhile, hailed the conference's keenness on Egypt's activate participation in the conference, following the formation of the new House of Representative.
Sisi, meanwhile, welcomed the speakers of the Arab parliaments and underlined the need of supporting parliamentarian cooperation between the Arab countries during the current phase.
He also hailed the keenness of the House of Representative on restoring its pioneering role at the regional and international fronts.
The Arab parliament speakers from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Palestine, Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Somalia and Qatar hailed the launch of Egypt's strategy for sustainable development.
They also hailed Egypt's stances at the Arab level and its role in fostering ties and cooperation with the Arab countries.
The meeting also tackled a host of Arab issues, including the Palestinian cause and ways of reaching solutions to the crises gripping the Arab countries, added the spokesman.
