President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Sunday with a number of top brass to discuss projects implemented by the Egyptian army.
Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said the meeting tackled the updates of the first phase of the national road network as well as the new bridges and railroad crossings to be inaugurated in the coming period.
Sisi approved the launch of the second phase of the national road network with the aim of easing transportation of commodities, providing job opportunities, attracting investments and improving infrastructure, Youssef said.
The meeting tackled also a number of projects being established by the engineering authority of the Armed Forces, including the digging of wells to reclaim one million feddans.
The president urged finalizing such projects in accordance with the highest quality standards and at a low cost, the spokesman concluded.
