Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday met with Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi, Irrigation Minister Hossm Moghazi and Head of the General Intelligence Directorate Khalid Fawzy.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Yousef said the meeting reviewed various development projects implemented by the Egyptian state in Sinai.
They also discussed projects implemented by the Irrigation and Water Resources Ministry to reuse agricultural drainage water via modern technology.
The meeting also followed up the ongoing negotiations between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia on the Renaissance Dam after the six-party meeting in Khartoum and the technical meeting in Addis Ababa.
In the context of confidence-building measures by the Ethiopian side, they invited the Egyptian and Sudanese sides to visit the Renaissance Dam's site to get to know stages achieved on the dam's construction process, the irrigation minister said.
An agreement will be signed in February
with the two consulting firms that will supervise the study of the Renaissance Dam's file, he added.
Water studies will be completed before the end of 2016, Moghazi said.
