Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamed, who arrived at Sharm el Sheikh Airport on Friday to attend the 26th session of the Arab Summit to kick off here on Saturday.
Fourteen Arab presidents, kings and princes will be taking part in the summit.
Syria's seat will remain vacant in line with a decision by the Arab League (AL) to suspend the participation of the Arab country in all AL meetings.
The summit's agenda includes a report by the AL secretary general on joint Arab action.
The Palestinian cause and the Arab-Israeli conflict, as well as the latest developments in Syria, Libya, and Yemen will also figure high in the two-day event.
The summit will also take up Arab national security and means of combating terrorist and extremist organizations.
