
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed support for Iraq's stability.
During a meeting with prominent Iraqi leaders on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Jordan, Sisi was posted on the latest developments in Iraq in light of Daesh's control over swaths of the Arab country, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said Friday.
Sisi met Vice Iraqi President Ayad Allawi, President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani and Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al Jabouri.
Talks also tackled international efforts to uproot extremism and terrorist organizations on Iraqi soil, along with other endeavors to achieve national reconciliation.
The Iraqi officials praised the Egyptian leading role in the Arab region and its vital role in enhancing regional security and stability.
Sisi stressed that Cairo supports all legitimate Iraqi institutions in their efforts to counter terrorism.
