Sisi supports childhood, population councils

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is fully supporting the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood and the National Population Council, Population Minister Hala Youssef said.

Sisi had stressed that the two councils should include all segments of the society in their activities and projects without focusing on a certain bracket, the minister said during a press conference on Sunday.

Youssef said she briefed Sisi during a recent meeting on all efforts exerted regarding the national strategy for population, childhood and motherhood.

Sisi had issued an official assignment for the establishment and formation of a child fund, she said.

The meeting with the president also took up ways to develop the needy villages, raise the standard of living of slums and cooperate with civil society organizations, she added.
