Sisi urges Egyptians to unite to build nation

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called Thursday on Egyptians to unite and step disagreements aside to achieve their country's major goals, including development, social justice, stability, refreshing the economy and solving the unemployment problem.

During his meeting with representatives for the Egyptian community in Germany and a number of European countries and the United States, Sisi stressed the state's keenness to complete the roadmap by electing a new parliament before the end of the current year to take over its role in legislation and monitoring the government.

"The coming two years will see major developments and new projects which will lead Egypt forward," Sisi said, adding that many projects have been accomplished, not only the New Suez Canal, but also schools, hospitals and roads.

The Egyptian leader spoke about the projects that were introduced to German investors, which covered the infrastructure including the development of ports, and major logistic centers.

He added that he held a three-hour meeting with officials of Siemens to follow up the implementation of contracts to build three power plants.

The government is moving forward improving the capacities of the electricity grid to end the suffering of citizens, the president stressed.

He pointed out that he spoke about projects of cement, chemicals and petrochemicals, stressing the necessity of establishing petrochemical industries to provide foreign currency to import fuels.

He urged the Egyptians abroad to expound the ongoing developments in Egypt to the world, noting that he noticed when arrived in Germany that the true image has not been completed.

"What happened in Egypt was a popular will which saved Egypt from collapsing like other countries," he said.

"There are powers that seek to undermine the Egyptian state, he said commenting on a female journalist who chanted against the government during a press conference in Berlin. "I wish I could meet that girl to explain some issues to her."

He stressed that Egypt's army is strong and capable of protecting the nation and achieving stability.

At the end of the meeting, the president called on the Egyptians to spend their vacations in Egypt to support the economy.
