A planned visit by Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Saudi Arabia on Sunday comes in a very critical time, the Egyptian ambassador in Riyadh told MENA Friday.
Afifi Abdel Wahab stressed the importance of the visit to boost cooperation, coordination and concerted efforts to face regional challenges, topped by the risk of terrorism.
Abdel Wahab said Sisi is scheduled to meet with Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz al Saud.
The Egyptian diplomat said Cairo and Riyadh shoulder a great burden in tackling the phenomena of terrorism, which does not only pose a threat to the region, but the whole world.
Concerning the economic conference due to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh on March 13-15, Abdel Wahab said the two leaders will discuss issues of mutual interest, and aspects of boosting bilateral ties.
