
Speaker of the Iraqi parliament Salim al Jabouri headed for Saudi Arabia on Friday to attend the funeral of late king Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz who died in the early hours of the day.
Iraqi Vice President Osama al Najifi is also heading for Riyadh to offer condolences over the king's death.
Jabouri, earlier condoled with the Saudi people and the Arab and Muslim worlds over the death of the king.
"The late king was a historic leader who was able by his wisdom to contain regional problems," Jabouri said.
The nation will never forget the king's stance against division and extremism and his hard work for the unity of the Arab world, he added.
