
The death toll from a stampede during a Hajj ritual in Saudi Arabia rose to 37 among the Egyptian pilgrims, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said.
Gomaa, who is also the head of the Hajj mission, told MENA that the names of the deceased pilgrims will be announced later in the day.
He added that the mission is following up the conditions of the Egyptian pilgrims especially those who were injured in the crush.
Hundreds of pilgrims died or injured on Thursday when a stampede broke out in the tent city of Mina during a pilgrimage ritual.
