Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour has said that his country is not mediating between Egypt and Ethiopia in the negotiations on the renaissance dam.
"We have rights and common interests with sisterly Egypt and Ethiopia," Ghandour said in statements after the end of the six-way meeting on the dam Saturday.
"We are not mediators, we are not neutral and we are not biased," Ghandour said, adding "we have a right just like Egypt and Ethiopia."
Ghandour said that his country is seeking to bring closer all views of the three countries, stressing this serves national interests.
He denied reports that the six-way meeting was a failure, noting that some issues needed further explanation by the three countries.
The six-way talks will resume in two weeks, Ghandour said.
