
The Council of Ministers Tuesday heard in its extraordinary sitting, chaired by the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, a report presented jointly by the Cabinet Affairs Minister, Ahmed Saad Omer, and the Foreign Minister, Ali Karti, and the Secretary General of the Sudanese Expatriates Organ, Haj Majid Suwar, on the situation of the Sudanese nationals in Libya.
The spokesman of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Omer Mohamed Salih, said that the report indicated that the Sudanese nationals were not affected by the incidents in Libya, and that 18 Sudanese national were killed in one incident due to fall a random rocket on the area of their residence at an outskirt of Tripoli.
The report indicated that there is no organized targeting directed against the Sudanese nationals in Libya.
Dr. Salih stated that Sudanese Embassy to Tripoli did not receive any call from a Sudanese national demanding his evacuation from Libya to Sudan.
He said that the government has affirmed its readiness to intervene immediately to evacuate the Sudanese nationals outside Libya whenever it is asked to do so.
