The Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement Thursday issued a statement denying convocation of an extraordinary conference (Ambaru conference) in the past days and dismissal of the movement's leader, Brig. Bakhit Dabajo.
In the statement, the Information Secretary and spokesman of the movement, Al-Saddiq Yousif Zakaria, said that any call and invitation for a conference usually comes from the leader or the chairman of the movement's Legislative Council, adding that he did not hear about any invitation from these two persons.
He said that the Basic Statute of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement stipulates that the General Conference of the movement convenes every four years, indicating that the movement has held an extraordinary general conference last year and unanimously elected Brig. Bakhit Dabajo as the legitimate leader of the movement.
Zakaria went on to say that any talking about Ambaru conference represent a plot which is aimed to impede the peace and stability process which is being witnessed in Darfur region.
He affirmed that the leadership of the movement is coherent in all the executive and legislative organs and working for achieving the goals.
