HE President of the Republic of the Sudan Omar Hassan Ahmad Al Bashir praised the efforts exerted by the State of Qatar to achieve peace and security in Darfur.
Addressing the opening the Sudanese School in Doha today, HE the Sudanese President underlined that the State of Qatar, through the Doha Document for peace in Darfur, has succeeded in achieving peace in the region and resisted all attempts to thwart its efforts.
The President extended thanks and gratitude to HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, as well as the government and people of Qatar.
The Sudanese President then reviewed previous unsuccessful attempts to establish peace in Darfur, until Qatar took a decisive step to achieve the feat despite the many challenges faced.
President Al Bashir said that the Sudanese school is part of the Sudanese government's efforts to provide access to education to Sudanese children living abroad. He added that Qatar's support to the school should be an example to all countries that have a Sudanese community.
HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi expressed his delight at inaugurating the new Sudanese school in Doha. His Excellency added that it was one of the schools that the State of Qatar should be delighted with and keen to support. His Excellency said that Qatar was delighted to cooperate with Sudan in the educational field.
HE the President of Sudan inaugurated a new Sudanese embassy in the diplomatic area. The inauguration was attended by HE State Minister for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, HE Qatar's Ambassador to Sudan Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, and HE Sudan's Ambassador to Qatar Fatah Al Rahman Ali.
