Suez police have received no reports that government vehicles were set ablaze.
News that government vehicles were burned in Faisal neighborhood is baseless, Suez police chief Tareq el-Gazar told MENA Tuesday.
Muslim Brotherhood websites claimed that an affiliated MB movement identifying itself as "the people's resistance movement in Suez" had set fire to vehicles belonging to the executive authority of the Suez city hall in Faisal neighborhood.
The security situation is completely under control in the Canal city, Gazar assured.
He said police have been able to seize many unlicensed firearms over the past days.
Some wanted criminals have also been arrested, Gazar added.
