
Vandals on Tuesday sprayed hate-graffiti on amosque in northern Israel in another apparent Price Tag attack by Jewishextremists, police said in a statement.Police spokesperson Miki Rosenfeld said that a Star of David was spray-painted onthe walls of a mosque in the Arab town of Furadis, together with a graffiti reading“Shut Down Mosques, not Yeshivas!” Yeshivas are Jewish seminaries.In addition, the vandals slashed the tires of more than 20 cars, reported Xinhuanews agency.“Price Tag” attacks are acts of vandalism perpetrated against Palestinians and theirproperty in Israel and the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The attacks are carried out byJewish right-wing.The attack in Furadis is the latest in a string of incidents in northern Israel. Lastweek, the door of a mosque in the Arab city of Um El Fahem was torched and hate-graffiti were spray-painted on the walls.According to figures released by the United Nations, the number of attacks againstPalestinians almost quadrupled in the last eight years, increasing from 115 in 2006to 399 in 2013. However, indictments were filed in only 8.5 percent of the cases.
