The People’s Assembly discussed in a session held on Monday the draft law regulating the appointment of the real estate judges.
During the session, chaired by People Assembly Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham, Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalawangi pointed out that the law comes in line with the provisions of the Constitution for pushing forward the independence of the judiciary and avoiding delays in separating lawsuits.
The law is also meant to consolidate the role of the General Establishment of Real Estate in supervising the judges’ work, the Minister clarified.
Ghalawanji added that the law contains granting advantages that help the judges fulfill their jobs, the most prominent of which are immunity and retirement benefits.
