
The Syrian presidential election would not be delayedunder any circumstances, a high ranking Syrian source said that the told Sky NewsArabia TV.The speaker of Syria's parliament will announce on Monday, the date of thecountry's presidential election, the source said, adding that no observers will not beallowed to watch over the elections.The number expected to participate in the elections is 19,25 million, the source said,claiming that most of the Syrians in the areas beyond the government control havealready fled to neighboring areas.The estimated number of Syrians in the country in 2011 was about 23 millionpeople.Candidates for the presidential elections have 10 days to submit their applicationsand they must be nominated by 35 parliament members of the 250 lawmakers.Those who had left the country through the official crossings can vote in theupcoming elections, the source added.
