A group of Syrian athletes celebrate the Syrian Olympic Day in Damascus, capital of Syria, Aug. 20, 2016. Syria has participated in the Rio Olympics 2016 with seven athletes. Sport Federation Chief, Muwafaq Jouma, told Xinhua recently that the participation of the Syrian athletes in the olympics is a message that Syrians are still capable of challenging despite the long-running conflict.
