The Syrian opposition accused the regime troops of ambushing and killing 16 civilians in Selmiah near the central city of Hama.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a statement, on Wednesday, dozens of civilians were wounded in the ambush, and that many others went missing, while they were trying to leave rural areas north of Homs.
Elsewhere, the monitor said a convoy of food supplies entered Hey Al-Qadam, south of Damascus, nine weeks after a truce was mediated to halt fighting between the government and opposition forces. Local officials had agreed on ceasing shooting, withdrawing the regime forces from inner parts of the contested area and allowing the opposition Free Syrian Army to administer the region, without handing over arms to the government.
At the northern contested town of Ain Al-Arab (Kobane), fighting was reported in the town eastern sector between Kurdish fighters and gunmen of the militant group, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
The ISIL has besieged the town since September 16. Bitter street-to-street and house-to-house fighting for its control has been raging since then between the two sides.
