The total number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon has reached 942,667, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The UNHCR said on Sunday in its weekly report that 895,647 refugees had registered with the UN, while another 47,20 are still waiting for their turn. The report also noted that 90,000 children were enrolled in 79 schools and 610,000 refugees received food aid. The refugees spread across different Lebanese cities and towns, mostly in Al-Biqaa, 320,000 in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, and 115,000 in Southern Lebanon, noted the UNHCR. Kuwait is among the top countries in providing humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan, by the country's organizations including the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Zakat House, Al-Rahma International Society, Social Reform Society, and others. Kuwait had hosted the second international donor's conference last January to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of Syrian people, which resulted in pledges of about USD 2.4 billion.
