Syrian warplanes on Tuesday bombarded a number of Daesh militants sites and gatherings in intensive air strikes in different parts in Palmyra's countryside, a military source said.
The Syrian News Agency quoted the source as saying the air raids led to the killing of several Daesh militants and destroying their vehicles and weapons.
More than 200,000 Syrians have lost their lives in four years of armed conflict, which began with anti-government protests before escalating into a full-scale civil war. More than 11 million others have been forced from their homes as forces loyal to President Bashar al Assad and those opposed to his rule battle each other - as well as jihadist militants from the so-called Islamic State.
