
Security forces managed to contain tension in Adhamiya district in northern Baghdad which was triggered by torching a Sunni building.
Security forces and religious scholars were quick to act to stave off sectarian sedition as the incident coincides with Shiites' commemoration of Imam Musa al Kadhim.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haydar al Abadi and Baghdad Operations Commander Abdul Amir al Shammari visited the Fiqh Council in the district and lauded the efforts exerted to shun sectarian split.
Abadi called for swiftly bringing to justice those behind this act.
A group of unidentified people lurked among visitors of Imam Mus al Khadim shrine and claimed that a terrorist was wearing an explosive belt so that Shiite visitors moved hastily and the Sunni building was set ablaze.
