Trial of 2 Egyptian policemen over torturing lawyer postponed to July 28

The Cairo Criminal Court postponed the trial of two police officers over torturing a lawyer to death inside Mataria police station to July 28.
The court delayed the trial on Saturday, the first hearing in the case, to listen to the testimonies of the police station chief and the forensic doctor who carried out an autopsy on the lawyer's body.
The court also banned the two defendants from travel.
According to prosecution investigations, the two policemen had tortured the victim to death while being held in custody at Mataria police station to force him to confess crimes they believed he had committed for the sake of the Muslim Brotherhood. The victim sustained serious injuries that led to his death as stated in a forensic report.
