Mansoura Criminal Court postponed the trial of 24 members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood to February 15 in order to listen to the hearings of prosecution and defense witnesses.
They are accused of shooting dead a sergeant, Abdullah Metwali, while leaving work at the Daqahiliya police HQs.
The defendants are also accused of promoting Takfiri remarks against the ruler, provoking attacks against Christian citizens and conducting terrorist operations against the Armed Forces and police.
The defendants also face charges of joining a group that called for suspending the constitution and preventing state institutions from carrying out their duties.
Some of the defendants also possessed unlicensed firearms and ammunition with aim to use them in activities harmful to state security and national unity, according to the prosecution statement.
