Egyptian presidential candidates Amr Moussa and Mohamed Selim al-Awa held a triple meeting with chairman of Al-Wasat Party Aboul Ela Mady to discuss the repercussions of the events in Tahrir and how to suspend the clashes there. Sources said Amr Moussa will hold a series of meetings with different presidential candidates and chairmen of political parties to form a unified situation towards the current crisis. During the triple meeting, the attendees discussed the situation in Tahrir Square, adding there is a need to protect the demonstrators from the violence committed by the security forces. They also stressed the need for Egypt’s ruling military council to transfer authority to a civil authority. On the other hand, Egypt's armed forces managed to control the situation in Mohamed Mahmoud St. and suspended the violent clashes between demonstrators and security forces. A number of revolutionaries worked to convince demonstrators in the street to leave to Tahrir Square and demonstrate there. It is important to mention the military institution responded to the demands raised by the demonstrators by releasing demonstrators arrested by the security forces during the recent demonstrations.
