Tunisia rejects any foreign military intervention in Libya

Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi on Friday said his country rejects any foreign military intervention in Libya.
Essebsi, who delivered a speech at a ceremony held at the Tunis Convention Centre to mark Labour Day, said Tunisia deals realistically with the situation in Libya in which several foreign agendas interfere.

He said that Tunisia makes contacts with the internationally recognized government government of eastern Libya and also the western Libyan government, which controls the border area with his country to reach a solution that ensures the interests of the Libyan people.

Tunisia is open to all proposals that would contribute to a breakthrough in the Libyan crisis, he said.

The Tunisian state pays attention to the issue of determining the fate of Tunisian abducted journalists in Libya, he added.
