UAE Armed Forces play major role in enhancing security

H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, said the UAE Armed Forces have played a major role in enhancing security and stability in the countries of the region, thanks to the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and the Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
He referred to the humanitarian role of the UAE Armed Forces in the field of providing assistance to countries affected by wars or conflicts, as well as areas affected by natural disasters.
Sheikh Saud added that the care and attention given by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for his sons in the armed forces have contributed to creating generations inspired by the sacrifices of the UAE martyrs, and are a true example of good citizenship and a role model for giving in the task of defending the legitimacy of Yemen and consolidating the principles of peace in the region.
Speaking to the military journal, 'Nation Shield', on the occasion of the UAE Armed Forces' 41st Unification Anniversary, the Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain said that Armed Forces Unification Anniversary, first marked on 6th May, 1976, "is a national day on which the country's armed forces united under one flag and one command."
The full text of the UAQ Ruler's statement follows: "It is fortunate to celebrate the UAE Armed Forces' 41st Unification Anniversary while our forces are standing up for protecting the homeland and its gains, raising banners of pride and honour, and every day demonstrating the themes of loyalty to the homeland and its leadership, and translating the meanings of national affiliation on the ground.
The Armed Forces Unification Anniversary, first marked on 6th of May, 1976, is a national day on which our armed forces united under one flag and one command. Under the leadership of the late founding leader, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the armed forces witnessed historic developments that coped with the establishment of the federation and the various new tasks of the armed forces on land, sea and air.
In the era of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, our armed forces have played a major role in enhancing security and stability of the countries of the region, in addition to their humanitarian role in the field of providing assistance to countries affected by wars or conflicts as well as areas affected by natural disasters.
The UAE Armed Forces have witnessed unique developments as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and new concepts, within the framework of national service, embodied the spirit of loyalty and pride of the homeland and leadership.
National Service Law No. 06 of 2014 promotes these concepts, which called on the Emirati citizens to join the military service, to which they expressed willingness to have the honour of national service with pride and sense of belonging.
The sons of the UAE in general and its members of armed forces in particular, through their participation in Operation Decisive Storm as part of the Coalition Forces to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, have proven that they are the sons of this giving country, who responded to the call of leadership with all determination and loyalty. Our martyrs have proven, through their noble championships, their authenticity and belonging to the homeland, and the sacrifices were combined with the will of their families to establish a national immortal epic on the unity of the country, leadership, determination and national belonging.
The care and attention given by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his sons in the armed forces have contributed to creating generations inspired by the sacrifices of martyrs, and are a true example of good citizenship and a role model of giving, as witnessed in the epic of defending the legitimacy of Yemen and consolidating the principles of peace in the region.
On this national occasion, we are pleased to extend our congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and the Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and to Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates as well as the families, children and mothers of the martyrs, and our loyal people."
