The General Assembly of the Arab Union for Leadership Development has elected Abdulrahman Mohammed Bani Yas, Director of the UAE Leadership Development Centre, as a member of its executive bureau for the 2017-2020 period.
This decision was taken during a meeting at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt. Dr. Ismail Abdul Ghaffar was elected as president of the Union for the second consecutive time.
Abdulrahman Mohammed Bani Yas expressed his appreciation for the trust reposed in him by representatives of Arab countries. He also appreciated the support of Ibrahim Abdul Malik Mohammed, Secretary-General of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare and Chairman of the Leadership Development Centre, as well as other members.
He hoped that his performance would meet expectations while highlighting the fact that the election of a UAE representative by the general assembly is a tribute to the country’s prominent role and its qualitative leap in various sectors.
Bani Yas assured that numerous programmes and initiatives would take place during the coming period with the aim of training young leaders academically, culturally and scientifically, while noting that the union would coordinate with the relevant authorities in the youth and sports sectors to draft plans and programmes to raise the skills and capacities of leaders, in line with the UAE Vision 2021 that aims to highlight the UAE’s role as a regional and international model.
