The UAE has participated in the Arab Focal Points Meeting at the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC) at the Arab League Secretariat General in Cairo yesterday.
Mohammed Rashid Al Shehi, In-Charge of Financial and Administrative Affairs, UAE Embassy in Cairo, represented the UAE at the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Samia Bibars, head of culture and dialogue at the League of Arab States, revealed that the pan-Arab organisation was putting the final touches on the Arab common strategy for Alliance of Civilisations.
'The plan is expected to contribute to addressing and confronting challenges facing the Arab-Islamic Nation, notably phenomena like terrorism, violence, extremism, Islamophobia, abuse of and disrespect for divine religions and religious symbols and prophets.
The strategy, she added, will also address political and security transformations which took place in the Arab region following what she called the 'Arab Spring Revolutions."
