
The United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who is currently visiting Jordan as part of his tour in the region, stressed Sunday on the importance of spreading peace in Syria.
He expressed his appreciation to the responsibilities shouldered by Jordan for receiving the Syrian refugees.
These remarks came during the meeting held between Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and the UN chief accompanied by the Head of the World Bank Jim Yong Kim.
The get-together was attended by number of Jordanian high-level officials.
The UN chief said that his organization cooperates with Jordan, expressing his appreciation to it for its positive stances towards the Syrian crisis.
Concerning the Palestinian cause, he underscored the need to find a fair and permanent solution for it.
For his part, Ensour discussed the challenges facing his country due to the influx of the Syrian refugees where there is shortage in the aid provided to Jordan from the international community.
