The UN secretary general's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed suspended on Saturday evening peace talks after delegations of Houthis and pro-former president Ali Abdullah Saleh militias did not commit to agreements reached last week, Yemen’s news agency reported.
The militias refused to hold talks via formed committees and did not commit to the framework or the schedule.
Meanwhile, the delegation of the legitimate government called for the immediate release of all political detainees and to activate the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross starting this week.
