
UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed urged the participants in the intra-Yemeni peace talks in Kuwait to offer mutual concession in order to reach a win-win solution to the crisis of their country.
"The negotiating teams have to put the interests of the people above all considerations and reflect the aspirations of the people for peace and security," Kuwait news agency (KUNA) quoted Cheikh Ahmed as saying in a press release on Sunday midnight.
"The peace process has entered a delicate stage and will take time to reach a binding, comprehensive and permanent agreement on all sticking issues," he pointed out.
The UN envoy, who held meetings earlier Sunday with the negotiators, including a seven-member women delegation, highlighted the role of the females in the political peace-making process.
He renewed the UN commitment to the involvement of women in the political process as "true advocates for peace".
