US Secretary of State John Kerry said that the US is aware of the Muslim Brotherhood's involvement in violent acts.
In his testimony before Foreign Affairs Committee of House of Representatives, Kerry denied hosting members of the Muslim Brotherhood during a visit paid by a delegation last year.
It was unknown that one of the delegation members belonged to the Brotherhood, Kerry said.
The US is carrying out an evaluation about the status of Muslim Brotherhood group and legal conditions necessary to label the group as terrorist organization, Kerry said.
He noted that some affiliates of the group conducted violent acts.
As for the situation in Egypt, Kerry said that Egypt is facing difficult challenges, including terror acts in Sinai and bombings in several cities, including Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh.
