
Chairman of the Union for the national assembly, Houari Hamidi pleaded Wednesday in Algiers for the inclusion of an article in the new Constitution, criminalizing any act prejudicial to the military institution.
Speaking after his meeting with the Minister of State, Chief of Staff to the Presidency of the Republic, Ahmed Ouyahia, as part of the consultations on the revision of the constitutional, Hamidi said he proposed the inclusion of an article which criminalizes any act prejudicial to the military, noting that this institution "has always worked for the country's security and saved Algeria tragedies."
He also stressed the "sacredness" of the Basic Law of the country, calling for sanctions against those who violate the Constitution.
Also, he hailed the initiative of consultations launched by the Presidency of the Republic, which reflects "the enshrinement of the democratic practice and expression of the popular will."
