US Assistant Secretary of Treasury Daniel Glaser met with senior officials in Cairo on cooperation to dismantle cells of funds of Daesh.
A press release issued by the US embassy in Cairo said Glaser discussed with the officials of the foreign and interior ministries of Egypt and officials of the Central Bank of Egypt joint strategies to deny the terrorist group access to the international financial system and best ways to coordinate efforts in this regard.
Glaser said his country works with its regional partners including Egypt to take serious step to isolate Daesh and prevent it from using its wealth.
He said he came to Cairo to boost its strength in combating terror and develop joint cooperation particularly to fight groups affiliated to Daesh in northern Africa.
Glaser said Washington looks forward to continuing partnership with Cairo to manage together to fight Daesh.
