His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc).
During their meeting, they emphasised that they are proud of UAE’s loyal people who adopt the concepts of excellence and innovation to enhance the UAE’s competitiveness globally. They also stressed the importance of continuing to diversify the economy based on the UAE’s strengths and expertise, particularly in key sectors such as energy, and adopt such thinking methodologies that look forward to the future and prepare for it in such a manner that ensures growth and prosperity and consolidates the UAE’s status among the world’s advanced countries that seek safety, stability and happy living for their citizens.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid toured Adnoc’s main facilities and was briefed on the company’s strategy to explore the future and achieve smart growth through key pillars such as investment in human beings, upgrading performance, raising efficiency and boosting economic returns.
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied during his tour by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Lieut. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State and Chief Executive Officer of AADNOC Group of Companies.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasised that the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is keen on exploring the future, building and empowering citizens and laying the foundations for a strong economy that ensures the UAE’s growth, prosperity and contribution to building human civilisation.
Earlier, Sheikh Mohammed and accompanying sheikhs were briefed on Adnoc’s vision and mission, which focus on adopting the culture of excellence, supporting innovation and investing in human resources with a view to enhancing the value of natural resources and meeting the current and future needs for energy.
They listened to a presentation about the basic themes of Adnoc’s strategy as well as its objectives which including increasing exploration, development and production operations, increasing gas supplies in an economical and sustainable manner, enhancing growth in the field refining, petrochemicals and derivatives and increasing the value of products by keeping pace with the market trends and creating an added value by improving capital structure.
The presentation also discussed Adnoc’s achievements last year which included maintaining strong production rates with reduced costs, entering into new partnerships and employing advanced technology, among others.
At the end of the visit, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed took souvenir photos with a number of male and female employees of Adnoc and its group of companies.
