Yemeni Foreign Minister Riyad Yasin thanked Egypt, the Arab League Secretariat and all Arab countries especially Saudi Arabia for supporting Yemen's constitutional legitimacy represented in President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi.
In a press conference on the sidelines of the Arab summit in Sharm el Sheikh, which wrapped up Sunday, the minister said the aim of Operation Decisive Storm was to end armed operations and resume the political process.
He said Operation Decisive Storm will be followed by a process to reorganize Yemen's army and restore the development process, calling on the Houthis to lay down arms before any political process.
The Yemeni minister said his country had to call for the operation after the military coup of the Houthis against the legitimacy, denying reports on a war between the country's Sunnis and Shiites.
He said former president Ali Abdullah Saleh ruled the country for 30 years during which he siphoned off billions of dollars.
