Yemeni president appoints Houthi, al-Hirak presidential advisers

Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi Wednesday appointed two advisers representing the once rebel Houthi and the Southern Separatists (Al-Hirak) movements as per a recently-signed peace accord between the sides.
The move is part of the Peace and National Partnership Agreement signed by all political parties three days ago, in an attempt to resolve the country's lingering political crisis, a government source said on Wednesday.
Saleh Al-Sammad from the Houthi side and Yassin Makkawi from the Southern Separatists Movement will begin assuming the role.
The announcement of a new prime minister, also as part of the accord, is expected to follow within the coming hours as the sides continue to discuss the matter, according to sources.
Meanwhile, Al-Islah Party (Yemeni Congregation for Reform) complained that its Sanaa headquarters had been attacked and sabotaged, to which it claimed the Houthis were responsible.
Houthi fighters maintained their seizure of a host of security and military facilities in the capital, including an air base at the airport, and attacked the headquarters of the government's National Security Apparatus.
They have also released Iranian detainees who were accused by the government of being involved in activities that harm the country's security.
According to political and media sources, these Iranians have returned to their country.
