Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi received on Tuesday an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to partake in the Arab League (AL) summit, due to be held in Sharm El Sheikh on March 28-29.
Egypt's Ambassador to Yemen Yousef el Sharqawi handed over the invitation to the Yemeni president during a meeting held today in Aden city.
In statements to MENA, Sharqawi said Hadi affirmed he will attend the AL summit, paying tribute to President Sisi for this invitation.
He also praised Egypt's Arab regional role and congratulated the Egyptian government on the success of the Egypt Economic Development Conference, which wrapped up on Sunday.
Sharqawi reiterated Egypt's support for the Yemeni constitutional institutions in order to achieve security and stability in this Arab country.
"Egypt supports the Gulf initiative and the outcome of the national dialogue, now held in Yemen under the aegis of the United Nations," Sharqawi added.
