The countdown for the next parliamentary and municipal elections on November 22 in Bahrain has begun. The event is expected to witness large scale participation of Bahraini youth in running the electoral campaigns, voting and vying for the seats.
Bahrain Youth Society President Ali Hussain Sharfi underlined the society's keenness on youngsters's participation in the elections to choose the most competent candidate who can serve their interests under the parliamentary dome. He also stressed support to the young candidates, calling on citizens to provide them with the opportunity to contribute to the building of the nation.
He voiced the society's hope youth-related issues will be given priority by the next parliament, including high living costs, unemployment, housing and healthcare. He also emphasised the importance of legislation aimed at enhancing the youth and sport momentum in Bahrain.
Bahrain Youth Society was established in June 2004 and ever since it has been working on fast-pacing development in Bahrain by working out youth-oriented programmes aimed at grooming youngsters for future leading posts.
